Everyone knows that Florida requires home health agencies have a Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP). After several busy hurricane seasons, AHCA turned over approval responsibilities of those plans to the Department of Health and many agencies struggled with the stricter compliance requirements. Add a global pandemic to the mix and it is more critical than ever that agencies have a very clear and comprehensive plan – not only to be compliant with the state regulations but to have something that is clear, easy to understand and easy to implement. That’s where HCAF’s All Hazards Emergency Management Task Force (AHEMT) comes in! Join Theresa Gates, Beyond Home Health Care Services CEO & Administrator, Vice President of HCAF’s Board of Directors and AHEMT Chairperson, to learn about the newly released All Hazards Emergency Management Manual. This manual is packed full of tools and assistance to help your agency not just comply with emergency management rules but to be armed and ready for any eventuality! Theresa will be joined by HCAF’s Director of Clinical and Regulatory Affairs, Patti Heid, as well as HCAF’s Director of Private Duty Services, Kristen Wheeler, who will be on hand to answer regulatory and membership questions. Now that the Medicare Review Choice Demonstration (RCD) phased-in approach has begun, some Florida home health care providers are participating in the pre-claim review (PCR) process. In fact, during last month's RCD webinar 72.44% of attendees stated they planned to gradually increase the claims they submit in order to achieve 100% compliance within the 60 days following the August 31, 2020 start date. As a result, HCAF has planned to host monthly check-up webinars where Florida home health providers can check in and learn about how things are going for those who started the process. Attendees will also hear from industry expert Melinda Gaboury, CEO of Healthcare Provider Solutions, who will provide you with food for thought on key things to consider throughout the RCD implementation process. Whether you have started the process or are waiting to start until it becomes absolutely necessary, now is the time to come together to learn about how to achieve success in this demonstration while minimizing missteps.
