HCAF: HCAF Briefing: Family Home Health Aide Program — Final Requirements & Implementation Guidance

Florida’s Family Home Health Aide for Medically Fragile Children (FHHA) Program is officially moving toward implementation, and the finalized training requirements will have significant operational and compliance implications for Medicaid home health providers.

To help agencies prepare, HCAF will cover the Agency for Health Care Administration’s (AHCA) finalized training and supervision requirements, along with the recent approval of Florida’s Medicaid income disregard State Plan Amendment (SPA).

Although the training and program requirements are now finalized, providers should begin evaluating staffing, policies, training capabilities, and compliance readiness now so they are prepared once broader implementation moves forward and family interest increases.
