"The Expanded Home Health Value-Based Purchasing (HHVBP) Model represents the most significant change to the home health sector since the introduction of the Prospective Payment System (PPS) over 20 years ago. By rewiring the home model in value-based terms, Medicare has linked payment to outcomes, rewarding providers who deliver efficient care programs.
Further complicating the Expanded HHVBP Model is the introduction of the Outcome and Assessment Information Set Version E (OASIS-E) as the data collection tool for this value-based reform. Through extensive education focused on both OASIS-E and the HHVBP structure, most providers are familiar with the changes they produce.
