Description
It is well known that home care aides provide a critical service to clients in their home, but the deep bonds that are formed between aides and their clients are often overlooked. Spending one-on-one time with clients in their homes can result in family-like relationships forming, which can have devastating consequences for the aide when the client passes away. This webinar will explore the grief response of home care aides in the context of losing a client. Participants will be provided with an overview of the impact of client death on home care aides, as well as the role home care agencies play in either ameliorating the feelings of grief or exacerbating them. Recommendations for better supporting home care aide staff through client death will be offered.
