Description

This one-hour in-service is about understanding the importance the home health aide has regarding the patient and their medication.

Objectives

At the conclusion, participants should be able to: 

  1. Explain the importance of a patient taking their medications and the possible negative consequences.
  2. Discuss when and who to notify for medication non-compliance.
  3. List ways a HHA is allowed to assist the patient in the state of Florida.
  4. List the dangers of nonprescription drugs to the elderly.
  5. Explain why physical handicaps may hinder proper medication.
  6. Name 5 problems that can make a patient be considered high risk for not taking their medication correctly. 
  7. Name the two kinds of reactions that can occur with diabetic medication
